Abstract

This lecture will discuss Anji play, which attracts attentions of early childhood education practitioners and researchers both nationally in China and internationally. It’s an initiative to put play at the core of early childhood education, which is not common in China.

Practices and research have indicated that there exists both advantages and contradiction to Anji play. The presentation will discuss these two aspects, as well as how Anji play can be better supported to keep it going and growing.

 

Lecturer

Dr. Min He is an Associate Professor at the Department of Early Childhood Education in East China Normal University. Professional adviser of Save the Children Chinese office from 2012, Deputy director of Chinese National professional committee for 0-3 years old children ECE from 2022.

Among her research interests are Early Childhood curriculum, young children's science education , ECE for younger children under 3 years old and teacher training , reflection of Chinese early childhood through comparative research in the perspective of cultural psychology , and space & time in education.
