Online Linguistic Support

Online Linguistic Support (OLS) is a tool provided by Erasmus+ to assist you improve your knowledge of languages both when preparing for exchange and while abroad. Through OLS you get access to a language test and a language course.

How to access the OLS-tool

All Erasmus+ students are required to take a test in the language of instruction at the host university. The language test serves as proof of your language competence.

You will receive an email with an invitation to the language test from the OLS-system before going abroad. When entering the system remember to register your departure and return dates.

The test follows the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) which defines the levels of knowledge as follows:

  • A1 og A2: Basic user
  • B1 og B2: Independent user
  • C1 og C2: Proficient user

Before initiating the test, please register whether you wish to receive a free language course after the test. You may take language courses in both the language of instruction and in the local language.

If you obtain a level below B2 you will automatically receive the language course to improve your skills. If you obtain B2 or higher, you will only receive it if you initially registered for it.

Should you wish to receive a language course even though you did not choose one initially, you may change your preferences in the OLS portal. We advise all students to make use of the OLS tool.

The OLS language test can be downloaded as an app provided by Altissia International SA, or through the Erasmus app.

Detailed user guidance is available on the OLS web pages.
