Start of studies for International Master Students

We would like to welcome you as a new student at our international master programmes at HVL! We are preparing for you to have both a good academic start on your programme and a safe start of the semester. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic you will be able to follow the first semester online, and we hope that we will be able to see you at our campuses in due time.

EU/EEA citizens who are to study in Norway from the autumn 2020, may now enter Norway. When you come to Norway, you must follow the rules for quarantine when you enter and isolation if you become sick.

Citizens outside the EU/EEA that are going to study in Norway from autumn 2020, may now enter Norway. Before you can enter, however, you must have received a decision letter stating that you have been granted a residence permit as a student in Norway.

The first semester of our international masters will still be offered digitally as it might take several months to apply and receive the visa and then travel to Norway. You will follow the tuition digitally, but you now have the opportunity to apply for a visa/study permit and come to Norway during the first semester or before the second semester starts in January.

Attendance Registration

New students at HVL must register attendance. Even if you have already accepted the offer of becoming a HVL-student, we need this extra confirmation from you upon starting your studies. You will receive a notification on SMS when the registration opens. Contact the Admission Office if you did not register a mobile number in your application. In the SMS you will receive information about the registration deadline (usually the same day) and an attendance code. Follow this link to do the registration.

In addition to this, all students attending HVL need to registrer digitally in Studentweb each semester (semester registration).
