Signe Berit Bentsen er ansatt som professor ved institutt for helse og omsorgsvitenskap, master i klinisk sykepleie med spesialisering i operasjonssykepleie. Hun er operasjonssykepleier med klinisk erfaring fra intensivavdeling, akuttmottak og operasjonsavdeling. Hun har også en stilling som forsker ved Oslo Universitetssykehus, Akuttklinikken, Operasjonsavdelingen.
