Field of work
Negar is currently a PhD candidate at the University of Applied Sciences in Western Norway. Her PhD project is affiliated with the research project Norwegian Centre for Energy Transition Strategies (FME NTRANS), and she is enrolled in the Responsible Innovation and Regional Development (RESINNREG) PhD programme at HVL.
She holds a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and two master's degrees in Transportation Engineering and Climate Change Management.
In her PhD research, Negar examines the role of external impacts in transitions by investigating the interaction between ports and the sectoral, territorial, and technological contexts that influence them. Specifically, she aims to understand the synergy and competition between hydrogen and other low-carbon solutions within these contexts, as well as the ports' capacity to accommodate a tailored set of climate-friendly technology value chains. Importantly, she focuses on the transition to green maritime practices, particularly within Norwegian small- and medium-sized ports, through the lens of responsible innovation
