Distance requirements are continued in Bergen

HVL extends the distance requirement in teaching activity in Bergen until and including Sunday 19 September.

“We will assess the infection situation and wait a little longer before we open up for more physical education on campus in Bergen”, says Rector Gunnar Yttri.

He asks students and staff to note:

  • With distance requirements in teaching, we will have less teaching space on campus. The students in Bergen want a combination of physical and digital teaching. Remember to orient yourself in the schedule and Canvas.

  • For the other four campuses at HVL, it will still be possible to deviate from the distance requirement in teaching situations.

  • Many HVL students are now fully vaccinated. If you are not fully vaccinated, you should use the offer of vaccination (drop in or appointment booking) in the municipality where you study. You will find information on the municipality's website. The vaccine protects you and allows us to open up society more.

  • The use of rapid tests / self-tests will be phased out at all five campuses at HVL. This arrangement was primarily linked to the start of studies.

Yttri says that HVL in the middle of next week will reconsider the distance requirement in teaching at the Bergen campus.

“We hope that from Monday 20 September we can remove the distance requirement in teaching situations also in Bergen. We will provide updated information about this next week.”

“I would also like to mention that we have regular contact with the infection control services in the municipality and other universities and colleges in order to find good solutions together.”
