Welcome to our Universal Design Assessment Collaboratory, a two-day co-creation workshop to explore how we can use universal design in creating inclusive learning environments at HVL that accommodate the diverse learning needs of diverse students.

The concept of universal design for learning (UDL) provides a framework for designing learning activities, materials, and assessments that are accessible to all learners, regardless of their abilities or background knowledge. Working and experimenting together over two days, our aim is to co-design an introductory course on universal design in assessments for HVL teachers. We will examine UDL principles, strategies, and tools that we can implement to ensure fair and equitable assessments for all our students.

A light lunch on day 1 will be served in the meeting room at 12.30. Snacks and beverages will be available during the breaks on both days.

Please confirm your attendance to Mariya.Bikova@hvl.no and inform us of any food allergies.

The UD Assessment Collaboratory project is funded by HK-dir, the 2023 competence program for universal design in higher education.

The UD Assess Collab Project is implemented by a team: Djenana Jalovcic and Mariya Bikova from Global Health and Rehabilitation; Gunhild Austrheim, Library; and Maia Vatlestad, Academic Development. This project aims to enhance our university's capacity in utilizing universal design principles in assessments. For more information about the project, contact Djenana at jadj@hvl.no.
