Field of work

Field of Work

My main fields of work are language learning and education, multilingualism and teacher training and development. I am particularly interested in participatory methodologies to research, and I have been engaged in the development of digital learning tools that explore the potentials of arts-based approaches.

Recently, my research interests are situated at the intersection of language practice, the body and learning, and the related implications of the widespread use of digital technologies in educational environments and beyond.

Courses taught

In my current appointment, I teach a range of presential, online and hybrid courses in English language and didactics in teacher training programs for elementary school education. I also teach English grammar, phonetics and socio-historical aspects of English in the year-unit courses. I am currently in charge of the English section for elementary school education (grunnlærerutdanning) at Hogskølen Sogndal and I am actively involved in the development of digital courses.

Research areas

As part of my research interests, I have developed digital visualisations and language models based on data generated by research participants. The visuals and models represent and innovative approach to issues related to multilingualism, identity and language learning among schoolchildren and theyare current being used in teacher training courses.
