Field of work

Mira Kenzhebay is a Geospatial and Remote Sensing Analyst with a research interest in machine learning - based approaches. She is currently working on PhD project "Multimodal satellite data fusion for infrastructure monitoring" funded by European Space Agency (ESA).

Research areas

Her educational background in Geoinformatics has provided her with a solid foun-
dation in geocomputing, remote sensing, and advanced image analysis techniques.
In her master’s thesis, she successfully developed a novel method for planar roof structure extraction from Very High-Resolution aerial images and Digital Surface Models using deep learning. This method enabled the automatic generation of vector-format wireframes of building roofs, facilitating their interoperability and usability for 3D building generation and Digital Twin creation.
For the proposed PhD research, she aims to develop innovative deep-learning
based approach that utilize diverse data sources for infrastructure monitoring. The
research will involve various steps, including data handling, advanced analytics,
and the application of different methods from the field of computer vision.

Research groups

Mira is a member of Connectivity, Information & Intelligence Lab (Ci2Lab), which is a part of a Data Science and Artificial Intelligence Group within Computer Science Department. The mission of the Ci2Lab is to fully realize the potential of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in order to improve the infrastructure monitoring and enhance the quality of life.
