Goals and objectives

The AfroRehab 2030-project has six main objectives:

  1. Developing and implementing two new, interprofessional, blended MSc programs in Rehabilitation, in Tanzania and Kenya respectively, with six professional exits:
      1. Audiology
      2. Occupational therapy
      3. Optometry
      4. Physiotherapy
      5. Prosthetics & Orthonics
      6. Speech & Language Therapy/Pathology

  1. Leading two nationally accredited MSc Curricula in rehabilitation redy for adaption at other higher education institutions, for the training of rehabilitation cadres.
  2. Training highly qualified, digitally competent teaching staff, with enhanced transversal pedagogical skills.
  3. Equiping four African higher education institutions with new, digital teaching and learning technology and software, allowing for more inclusive, flexible, sustainable and green higher education activities.
  4. Initiating new collaborative research projects on rehabilitation models, human resources and digital rehabilitation, together with the labor market, professional and client associations and society at large.
  5. Establishing a regional (in Sub-Saharan Africa) and inter-regional (Sub-Saharan Africa and the EU) digital educational and research ecosystem in rehabilitation, ready for being expanded.
