Public Health

Promoting public health is about facilitating good living conditions and a healthy lifestyle, fellowship and safety, and coping with life and participation. HVL shall be the driving force and source of inspiration for conducting public health work across all economic and cultural conditions.

Collaboration partners

HVL collaborates closely with health institutions and hospitals to create arenas for research and education, through practice and participation. Here you find some of our selected collaboration partners.

ALREK Health Cluster

ALREK Health Cluster creates innovative health and care solutions with the help of research and education, practice arenas and interdisciplinary collaboration. ALREK is a future oriented cluster with a solid foundation in the health professional community in the Bergen area. HVL is one of the partners in the ALREK health cluster, and Centre for Care Research, west, and E-health Arena at HVL works especially closely with the health cluster.

Helse Bergen – Haukeland universitetssjukehus

Haukeland universitetssjukehus (HUS) is the largest hospital in Western Norway, and the second largest hospital in Norway in terms of research production. The main goal for the research conducted at Haukeland University Hospital is to provide effective and high-quality health care in a secure way, and consequently the university hospital aims to conduct and facilitate relevant and high‐quality clinical and translational research. HVL’s collaboration with the university hospital includes both education practice and research. HVL meets with the hospital twice a year at a collaboration forum. This forum shall contribute to education and research development at a sufficient level and of high quality, in accordance with HVL’s overall strategies and priorities.

Helse Fonna

Helse Fonna is a local health enterprise, with three somatic hospitals in Haugesund, Stord and Odda. In addition to patient care, education, research, and training are important areas for Helse Fonna. HVL collaborates closely with Helse Fonna on practice and learning outcome within nursing education at both campus Haugesund and campus Stord.

Helse Førde

Helse Førde is the public health service in Sogn og Fjordane. Helse Førde facilitates education and competence development at all levels and focuses systematically on developing good arenas for education and practice. HVL collaborates closely with Helse Førde on practice and learning outcome within nursing education at campus Førde.

Helse i Hardanger

Helse i Hardanger is interdisciplinary and facilitates for patients with chronic health problems to receive highly competent help to formulate treatment goals and take part in their own health change project in all stages.
