Through responsible innovation in research and education we contribute to economic growth with a sustainable perspective on innovation and development. Responsible innovation is linked to the UN Sustainable Development Goals, which see the environment, economy, and social development in context. The principle of responsible innovation governs our dialogue with society and efforts to improve our own operations and programs.

GCE Ocean Technology

GCE Ocean Technology was established in Bergen in 2006. It is an industry driven initiative within ocean technology with more than 120 partners and members. The cluster develops and supplies innovative ocean technology within a wide range of applications. HVL is a partner in the GCE Ocean Technology cluster, which is one of three Norwegian GCE clusters of companies easily competing with the best in the world.

NCE Finance Innovation

NCE Finance Innovation is a fintech cluster that empowers a Norwegian fintech ecosystem by facilitating technological innovation and collaboration within finance and technology.

NCE Seafood Innovation Cluster

NCE Seafood Innovation cluster aims to contribute to sustainable seafood growth by focusing on innovation. They want to impact the industry to drive digital transformation and improve fish welfare.

Ocean Innovation Norwegian Catapult Centre

Ocean Innovation Norwegian Catapult Centre is a national test, simulation and visualisation centre for efficient prototype development and certification of new solutions for blue growth and green transformation in the maritime industries. In addition to facilities they offer education, training and seminars. HVL is partner and collaborates with Ocean Innovation, connecting research and education at HVL with new and existing projects in collaboration with society and industry.

Atheno

Atheno promotes innovation in Sunnhordland and facilitates increased innovation and value creation in new and existing companies in the region. HVL collaborates closely with Atheno on promoting innovation.

VIS (Vestlandets Innovasjonsselskap)

VIS contributes to solving challenges in our society efficiently, making sure that knowledge and ideas are quickly turned into benefits for the society at large. HVL is one of the owners of VIS and collaborates closely with VIS on promoting innovation.
