Eva Biringer holds a 20 % position at the Western Norway University of Applied Sciences and a position as Senior Researcher at the Department of Research and Innovation in the Helse Fonna Local Health Trust, Norway. She is a specialist in Public Health and has worked as a District Medical Officer (kommunelege) in the municipalities of Karmøy (43 000 inhabitants) and Stord (20 000 inhabitants).
She has been a researcher for many years, mainly working in the fields of mental health and health care services research, but also has experience from research on the fields of nutrition, diabetes and other medical conditions. She has supervised a range of PhD- and master students.
Eva Biringer graduated from Medical School at the University of Bergen, Norway, in 1997. After that she worked as a physician in several somatic and psychiatric institutions and as a general practitioner.
After she completed her PhD in Neuropsychiatry at the University of Bergen, Norway, in 2006, she was leader of the Section of Mental Health Research at the Helse Fonna Local Health Trust, Norway (2006-2010). From 2009 to 2014 she was head of the Western Norway Research Network on Integrated Care. At the same time she was in charge of the national section of the European Pathway Association (www.E-P-A.org) in Norway. In addition to her experience from research and clinical work, she has a formal education in quality improvement in health care.
