Senior Adviser

Jan Erik Ølmheim

Field of work

Educated teacher with a master's degree in ICT and learning from 2022. Worked for 8 years at the middle school level at Slettebakken School (2004-2010) and Trudvang School (2010-2014). Worked as a pedagogical ICT advisor for Sogndal municipality in various positions for 4 years. Started as an advisor at the Faculty of Teacher Education at the University of Sogn og Fjordane in 2016. The work area at that time was aimed at increasing digital competence among faculty and students, training and administration in the learning platform Fronter, as well as training and use of Adobe Connect, which was used in online teaching.

Today, my work area is broader, where I work with online teaching, development of new online courses, and I have been involved in producing content, operating, and for the past year, mentoring at HVL's fully digital PFDK-MOOC. Training and use of digital tools are still central, with Zoom in particular being important in recent years. The master's thesis, which was written in the field of ICT and learning, dealt with online teaching and factors that post- and further education students saw as important for success.

I am one of three faculty contacts for the Department of Learning and Development (ALU), but I also work strategically for the Unit for Regional Development (ERU) in the FLKI faculty.
