Assistant Professor
Einar Arthur Kolstad
Field of work
I am an Assistant Professor conducting research in fire safety at the Haugesund campus, with a main focus on experimental fire dynamics, test methodology and laboratory development.
My PhD work concerns liquid pool fires and how lip height – the distance from the container edge down to the fuel surface – influences fire behaviour.
My research interests include fire dynamics and new energy carriers, such as battery safety, hydrogen safety and solar installations.
I am leading the development of R‑lab, a clean laboratory for fire experiments with emphasis on controlled conditions and emission treatment.
