Project summary

The main partners in the proposed project are the Western Norway University of Applied Sciences (HVL) and Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of Higher Education «Moscow Pedagogical State University» (MSPU).

Our main goal is to establish formal education and research collaboration between HVL and MSPU. The project is aimed at developing sustainable solutions for student mobility and academic cooperation in the area of mathematics' teacher education.

1. One of the main goals is to design a joint module on IT in teaching of mathematics with a focus on interactive geometry systems (IGS). The course will be integrated as a part of existing courses at both institutions to achieve sustainability.
2. Create mobility windows for students doing practical placement and R&D.  Students at both institutions have R&D project as a part of their studies. While on exchange, they will get a possibility to teach and collect research data in host country, and joint R&D supervision will be provided by their home institution, host institution and a placement school in the host country.
3. Curriculum development. MSPU will adapt some of their courses in higher mathematics for HVL students, and HVL will do the same with a course on critical mathematics. As of today both institutions lack course offers in English.
4. Intercultural understanding. We will achieve these goals by organizing student and staff mobilities, conduct workshops, discuss
curriculum development at project meetings. The major outcomes will be an established partnership between the two institutions starting with a joint module and mobility windows for exchange students. Students will also experience the cultural and structural differences between the school systems in two
countries.
