Project summary
Cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) are a leading cause of morbidity and diminished quality of life (QoL) worldwide. Cardiac surgeries such as coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) and aortic valve replacement (AVR) are common interventions that aim to improve survival and life quality. Assessing functional status post-surgery is crucial as it often predicts recovery and long-term outcomes. The Duke Activity Status Index (DASI), a self-administered questionnaire assessing subjective functional capacity in cardiac patients, offers a valuable measure of rehabilitation outcomes without the need for maximal exercise testing.
