Children's Free Time Activities

Project summary

A comparative study of 10/11 year old children's out of school activities in selected schools in Bergen and London. The aim is to find out what the children are doing in their spare time, where they are doing these activities and with whom. We are now in the 3rd year. We are co-operating with class teachers. The pupils are writing diaries over one week (the same week)in the two cities. The diaries are given a common format. A selected group of pupils are subsequently being interviewed. Each year we have been summing up, analysing and comparing the findings in the two cities. We are working on the final report.
