Project summary
It is difficult to increase the quantity of movement in patients who are already overweight. Often the focus is put on the burning of calories instead of focusing on mastering and enjoying movement. Many people make a great effort in order to reduce their body weight by doing lot of physical activities. Often it is difficult for them to keep up the activity, and they return to their former life style and put on weight again. After several attempts they resign. It is therefore important as the first step in this project to illuminate the problem as thoroughly as possible by doing a researching the literature to find out: What are the experiences of the patients? What do they think about the treatment and activities in which they have participated? It is only the patients that can give a direct answer to the question about how they enjoyed and mastered the activities. The intention with this project is first to improve the education of the physiotherapy students. Collaboration with other researchers in Helse Bergen is necessary to establish in order to give the students a possibility to participate actively in practical projects and hopefully use data from these projects in their bachelor theses.
