Project summary

The project has developed a web based digital learning tool to be used in the teaching of English as a foreign language for deaf and partially hearing students. It consists of a screen based learning package which includes British Sign Language (BSL), the visualisation of sounds, and specially developed oral and written texts for the target group. In addition, the project has developed a course in basic English phonetics for teachers who are going to teach English to partially hearing children and youths, and a suggested study plan (30 ECTS) for such teachers as part of a teacher training programme.
