Project summary
Learning in clinical practice is important in qualification of all health professions. To understand more of students’ learning in practice, it is essential to focus on students’ collaboration, with each other and within the community of practice. The aim of the project is to explore and develop knowledge about how peer- learning can enhance physiotherapy students’ learning in clinical practice. By looking closer at students’ own descriptions and experiences we want to clarify core elements concerning peer-learning and clinical supervision. The aim is also to develop a structure for a 2:1 model for peer learning and clinical supervision that can make supervision more efficient. Such a model may be implemented in different practice settings and student groups. Data is collected through interviews with students and supervisors/managers. Informal observations of peer-learning situations and supervision, as well as students’ patient reports and reflective notes, will also be included. Data will be transcribed and analyzed according to qualitative content analysis.
