Project summary
Aim: To explore factors influencing the provision of adequate rehabilitation services for children in low-income countries (LIC), and to understand the role of local and international civil society organizations.
Research questions: What does promote “best practices” and what are the challenges in provision of and access to integrated facility-based and Community Based Rehabilitation (CBR) in NGO’s in Tanzania and Sudan? How are needs and priorities defined, what is the influence of donors, which groups get access to which health services and when, payment/ funding, users' experiences with the chain of services, public/ private and inter- professional collaboration as well as task delegation and training of lay-workers.
Method
Anthropological, multi-sited case studies.Cross-disciplinary collaboration and capacity-building through PhDs and masters in Sudan and intervention research in TZ. Short fieldworks implying qualitative methods combining document studies,in-depth interviews and focus group discussions of key informants.
