Project summary
A project between Bergen University College and public health nurses in order to identify adolescents who may need follow-up of school health service in upper secondary school were starting point for this prospective study. In November 2011– april 2012, 189 students filled in KIDSCREEN-10 (health-related quality of life (HRQoL) questionnaire), SOC-13 (sense of coherence) and MHC-SF (mental health). Spring 2013 a follow-up were performed among the same students. The purpose with baseline study was 1) to get more knowledge about HRQoL, sense of coherence and mental health among adolescents, and 2) to examine the extent to which there is a correlation between KIDSCREEN-10, SOC-13 and MHC-SF. Through the follow-up study we will examine whether there are changes in HRQoL, sense of coherence and mental health during the two first years in upper secondary school. Same data have been collected in Japan, and we are doing a comparative study among the students from Norway and Japan
