Portraits of pedagogy teaching in EEC-teacher education: Emerging understandings of pedagogy, good teaching and professional development.

Project summary

This project aims to reconstruct meanings attached to pedagogy (pedagogical competence, good teaching and professional development), represented by teachers of different subjects involved in EEC-teacher education at Bergen University College.

Method

In order to answer my research questions: how pedagogy, pedagogical competence, good teaching and professional development are being defined/understand by different groups of actors involved in EEC-teacher education program? I am going to:

a) Take field notes from formal meetings about teaching in EEC;

b) Take notes from informal meetings and talks with teachers representing different subjects involved in EEC-teacher education;

c) Conduct one group interview with teachers representing different subjects involved in “BLU”: Norwegian, mathematics, drama, music, art, sport, nature, religion – spirituality – ethics, pedagogy.

d) Analyze written materials and documents produced in the new curriculum;

e) Take notes from every days teaching-life in pedagogy-section;

f) Conduct individual interviews with 10 members of kindergarten-pedagogy section (Ped-BLU).
