Project summary
The project explores adaptations of Old Norse myths in modern Scandinavian multimodal narratives for children and young adults. The primary focus is upon the (re)construction of mythical landscapes and places in different types of texts, such as picture books, comics and TV series. Possible trends and tendencies in modern reception of Old Norse myth will be analysed, in order to understand pedagogical, cultural and commercial factors that may influence the adaptations.
