Project summary

The aim of this case study is to examine Norwegian physiotherapists' experiences with the rehabilitation process of older adults after hip fracture. In particular, promoting and challenging factors affecting the continuum-of-care across the different levels of health care services and institutions would be studied. Research questions are:

- How do physiotherapists experience the various stages of the rehabilitation process of older patients after a hipfracture, across the levels of care and across the various institutions involved.

Method

Healthworkers/physiotherapists with experience from different levels of the health care system and with experience from different institutions (hospital, rehabilitation centres, nursing home and community-based services), as well as from municipalities of different sizes and in different parts of the country are recruited, to provide comparative material in this case study.

One master- and two bachelorstudents will collect the data. Ethical clearance is provided by the Norwegian Social Science Data board (NSD).
