Bathroom design in nursing homes

Project summary

 

Many residents in nursing homes rid themselves of urine and faeces in diapers instead of on the toilet. In 2014 we examined the functionality of bathrooms in 20 nursing homes in order to find out if the design made toileting difficult. The study was based on photos, drawing and different kinds of measurement. Bachelorstudentar in nursing at the University of Bergen conducted the data collection in cooperation with the project leader. The study was funded by the Bergen University College.
