Health and quality of life studies and the development of nursing care aiming at improving the the experiences of life after burn injury in patients and their family.

Project summary

The study purpose is to increase understanding on the experience of life after burn injury and how nursing may contribute to better health and quality of life in both patients and their families.Moreover, the study aims at developing research based initiatives in order to improve acute- and long-term burn care. Based on earlier studies on health and quality the study aims  are:

• To implement the Intensive Care Delirium Checklist in a burn center

• To study the experience of using a diary in a burn center from the perspective of patients and nurses

• To develop an intervention for parental support in a burn center
