Patient Safety Research

Our research group aim to increase knowledge about safe clinical pathways to decrease adverse events and increase quality and safety.

Many people experience adverse events or receive insufficient help when interacting with the healthcare services. Today’s healthcare system faces a growing mismatch between available resources and increasing demands, which may exacerbate challenges related to quality and patient safety.

In the research group Patient Safety Research we work to identify patient safety challenges, map their prevalence, and explore factors that influence the quality of healthcare services. Our research activities span from acute and critical illness to chronic conditions and cover all levels of the healthcare system.

User involvement is a central component of our projects and includes both service users and healthcare providers.
