Ingun Grimstad Klepp

Professor at Oslo Metropolitan University.

Klepp's research focuses on how understanding clothing can contribute to debates about the environment, democracy, and health. She is interested in the relationship between technical, social and historical approaches to textiles and has worked with the value chain for wool and the opportunities for environmental improvements through a focus on slow and local clothing. She recently received an excellent review from the Norwegian Research Council on the project with the title: GREEN BLOOD: Undressing hierarchies to reduce pressure on land through Forest Finn perspectives. She will discuss how clothing works as a barrier and how chancing the way we dress might open for being with oneself and nature with more conviviality. Klepp is an active communicator in various public media platforms and has contributed to a critical examination and revitalization of the understanding of consumption within outdoor life traditions
