MS1-324 Participation and interaction with differentiated services

Course description for academic year 2024/2025

Contents and structure

This course entails participation and interaction in a differentiated service system. The course highlights the way in which organisational aspects of health, care and social services affect opportunities for interactions and collaboration across services to promote active participation among service users. There will be particular focus on the organisational aspects of the Nordic welfare state model that promotes and inhibits cooperation across services.

Learning Outcome

A student who completes this course will achieve the following overall learning outcomes defined by knowledge, skills and general competencies:

Knowledge:
The Student will have:

  • knowledge of how organisational aspects affect interaction and collaboration across health, care and social welfare services, particularly in the Nordic region

Skills:
The Student will be able to:

  • critically reflect on how service providers can work together across sectors to promote active participation among service users.

General competencies:
The Student will be able to:

  • analyse opportunities for interaction, collaboration and active participation based on organisational conditions.

Compulsory learning activities

The following mandatory learning activities must be approved before students can take the exam:

  1. Presentation of a case study with perspectives on collaboration and participation.

Paper
Individual paper: 1500 words +/- 10%

Grading system The grading scale used is Passed / Not passed.
