Study plan - Bachelor of Maritime Management - online study
Autumn 2026
Bachelor in Maritime Management (BAMM) is a customized transition programme from vocational college education to a bachelor’s degree. The programme is reserved for candidates with a background from a maritime vocational college, specialising as either deck officer or engine officer.
The programme is fully digital, with online teaching distributed throughout the entire semester. Teaching is delivered through live, scheduled sessions, allowing students to participate actively and ask questions during the classes. The programme is designed to be compatible with employment. Therefore, all teaching sessions are recorded for those who are unable to attend live, although the main part of the learning takes place in real time. This makes it possible to complete the programme alongside work at sea or within land-based maritime industries. It is not possible to tailor the study programme to individual students; however, it is designed with a high degree of flexibility and will therefore suit most candidates.

Teaching
Teaching and learning methods are varied and are aimed at encouraging students to participate actively and to develop independent thinking. The learning activities vary and include, among other things, lectures, group exercises, and problem-based learning. In addition to individual work, students are encouraged to engage in group work throughout the programme.
Assessment
The forms of assessment have two purposes:
1. To give the students feedback on where they stand academically and thus facilitate improvement.
2. To say something about the students' learning outcomes.
The grading scale consists of letter grades A-F or pass/fail. The grades A-E show that the student has passed the course, and the grade E indicates that the minimum requirements have been met. The grade F indicates failure. The grade C reflects a good and solid academic performance.
Internationalization
Maritime education provides opportunities for exchange to educational institutions in Europe within the EU programs Socrates/Erasmus and Leonardo daVinci. The exchange can be of different length and content. The college can also offer stays at partner institutions in other parts of the world during the study period. Contact the study supervisor to find out more about internationalization in the study program.
Organization
Teaching is organised as online teaching distributed throughout the semester.
The teaching alternates between lectures, seminars, practical exercises, various forms of individual work and group work, supervision, and more. Between the sessions, there are planned mandatory learning activities and self-study.
