About us

The centres for care research have a mandate to conduct practice-oriented research and development, to disseminate research to the municipalities and the education sector, and to contribute to skills development within the care sector.

National structure - regional centre

The Centre for Care Research, west is one of a total of five regional centres for care research founded by the Ministry of Health and Care Services in 2008. The centre is a part of a national structure co-ordinated by the Centre for Care Research, east but is run by a shared management group across all of the centres.

The centres are located in the former health regions:

• Senter for omsorgsforskning, nord
• Senter for omsorgsforskning, midt
• Senter for omsorgsforskning, sør
• Senter for omsorgsforskning, øst

Omsorgsforskning.no is a collective website for the regional centres.

Partnership

As the only one of the five centres dedicated to care research, the centre in the west was established as a partnership in 2008. The partnership consists of eleven institutions across Vestlandet.

The centre co-operates with the various partners on specific projects, research groups, seminars and conferences. The central management holds regular dialogue meetings with all partners.
