The shipping industry is going greener. Norway needs new expertise and knowledge-based research, development, and innovation that enables the sustainable use of marine resources in the future and ensures sustainable maritime value creation for the Norwegian society.

The Department of Maritime Studies offers study programs on Bachelor-, Master- and PhD-level. We educate candidates who can sail tomorrow's ships and who can lead future operations in the land-based maritime industry.

Our researchers participate in maritime clusters and networks and we work in close cooperation with the maritime industry, universities, and research institutes, both in Norway and internationally.
