Bergen independent social advice office (BUS)

BUS is run by students who wish to become social workers. BUS is a voluntary service for people of all ages and it is free of charge.

BUS is a place where you may go to:

  • If you need someone to talk to with hardship in your life. We have plenty of time to listen and perhaps together we will find a light at the end of the tunnel with a solution.

  • If you believe you have the right to help from a public office, but you are uncertain where to make enquiries and where you may get information you need. BUS will try to help you find out your rights and where to get help.

  • If you are reluctant to seek help because you are uncertain where to go, perhaps you could seek advice with us first.

  • If you have received a decision from a public office which you are dissatisfied with and you believe that you still have the right to help, BUS can help you write a complaint or send a new application if you cannot get such help elsewhere.

BUS offers you a free interpreter if you need one.
