FeminaGlobal: Information for students

Nursing and midwifery students from HVL and nursing students from Univali can travel on exchange through the Norec project FeminaGlobal.

“FeminaGlobal: Empowerment through Knowledge - An International Educational Collaboration" is a project in collaboration between Western Norway University of Applied Sciences and The University of Vale do Itajaí (UNIVALI), Brazil.

Norec is funding the project and we currently have financial support for 2025 and 2026. Nursing and midwifery students from HVL and nursing students from Univali can travel on exchange through the Norec project. Six students can travel each semester.

The exchange will involve practice in both municipal health care and hospitals, with a special focus on maternal and newborn health.

When you travel on exchange through this project, the following applies:

  • You will have your travel and accommodation expenses covered, as well as a start-up grant from Norec.
  • At the start of the exchange period, you must attend an preparatory course organized by Norec. The preparatory course is usually held in Bogota, Colombia.
  • You must participate in some preparatory activities before you travel (for example language course)
  • During and after the exchange stay, you must help us to spread information about the project through social media and in potential information meetings for future students
  • You must participate in a digital homecoming seminar organized by Norec after the exchange.
  • We want the students who have been on an exchange through the project to follow up on students who later come on an exchange through the project to your campus.
  • We encourage the students that have travelled through the project to write a bachelor- or master thesis on a topic relevant to the project.
