PhD project: How does language proficiency affect cognitive processing during writing, and the quality of the final text? An explorative study of writing in L1 Norwegian vs L2 English in different experimental contexts.

The PhD project explores the impact of writing language (Norwegian vs. English) on writing processes and text quality. Keystroke logs and final texts produced in different experimental contexts by 10th-grade students (N=104) were analysed to understand how language affects cognitive processing and whether writing disfluencies have knock-on effects on text quality.
