Field of work
I am the Dean of the Faculty of Education, Arts and Sports at the Western Norway University of Applied Sciences (HVL), appointed from August 1st, 2025, for a four-year term. As Dean, I am responsible for the academic and administrative leadership of the faculty and serve as a member of HVL’s leadership team.
I have a background in sports science with a PhD in sports philosophy. I started at HVL in 2005 and am currently a Professor in Sports Science, with extensive experience in teaching, supervision, and the development of study programs at all levels. Over the years, I have been engaged in several research collaborations within the faculty's practice fields.
I have participated in various leadership development programmes, particularly in research and research leadership, and contributed to the development of HVL’s Research Leadership Programme.
At the faculty, I have served as Research Programme Leader (2018–2021) and Vice Dean for Research (2022–2025).
I am a member of UHR–Teacher Education, which works to coordinate and strengthen the quality of education and research in Norwegian teacher education.
I am committed to creating favorable conditions for growth and collaboration among students, staff, and partners, so that together we can understand and address societal challenges.
