Pro-Rector for Education in the period 01.08.21 to 31.07.25 and 01.08.25 to 31.07.29
The Pro-Rector for Education has a responsibility for the development of the university's study offerings at all levels. Key tasks are to safeguard and further develop systems and frameworks for quality education that support the faculty's work on quality development.
The Pro-Rector for Education has administrative responsibility for staff, operations and development in his or her functional area, organised into three departments. The Department of Educational Quality is responsible for the systematic quality work in the study programmes, management of the study portfolio, learning support and the Joint Student System. The Department of Study Administration is responsible for admissions, examinations and first-line terms, while the Department of Development of Learning and Teaching (ALU) is responsible for promoting the quality of learning and education. This third department is also responsible for providing HVL's own employees with a position in university pedagogy, and has a number of scientific employees who conduct research on teaching practice. ALU is also responsible for offering advice for education at all levels, with digitalisation and learning technology as key areas of work.
Pro-Rector Education is part of the HVL leedinggroup that addresses issues of strategic impact for the university.
Naustdal is a former vice-dean at the Faculty of Health and Social Sciences at Western Norway University of Applied Sciences, dean of the Department of Social Sciences and a lecturer in the nursing programme at the former Sogn og Fjordane University of Applied Sciences. She has experience from a number of positions regionally and nationally linked to the higher education sector and was a member of the government's Health Personnel Commission.
Naustdal is a trained nurse, has an education in pedagogy, a master's degree in organization and hiring and is a senior lecturer in health sciences.
