Field of work
assumed the position of Vice-Dean for Innovation and Regional Development at the Faculty of Technology, Environmental and Social Sciences at Western Norway University of Applied Sciences on 1 January 2026. Previously, I served as Dean and Head of Department at the UiA School of Business and Law. I have also held positions as Research Director and Chief Executive Officer at Agderforskning.
Since 2018, I have held a part-time position as Chief Scientist at NORCE. There, I established and led the research group Centre for Modeling Social Systems (CMSS) from 2018 to 2022, a research group with which I remain affiliated.
My research interests focus on innovation, leadership, and regional development. In recent years, I have concentrated particularly on the development and application of Social Digital Twins. I currently lead a Research Council of Norway funded innovation project developing digital models of the municipalities of Bergen, Tromsø, and Vadsø. The objective is to provide municipalities with a tool to plan, test, and exercise complex emergency preparedness scenarios in a more systematic and evidence-based manner.
