Program semester opening 2026 in Sogndal:

August 10th

Note that the start-up event on August 10th is primarily for new students in the bachelor's programmes.

09.00: Meeting your study programme in a classroom. The fadders arrive at 10. 

10.30–11.30: Welcome ceremony in Sognahallen.

11.30: Free lunch.

11.30–14.00: Guided tour and mingling. Different student organisations can be found on stands on campus.

14.00: Tour of Sogndal with the fadder group.

Fadder activities:

• 22.00: Silent disco at Studentsamfunnet i Sogndal (Meieriet).

Tuesday, August 11th

10.15–14.00: Educational programme with your study programme. 

14.15–14.45: «God start» lecture by Sammen. The lecture on Tuesday is for students in geology, landscape planning, business and administration, law, tourism management and real estate management. 

Fadder activities:

• 08.00: Bouldering with Lurkarlaget in the fotballhall: Campus Sogndal- MazeMap.
• 15.00: Rafting with Sjøspretten. 
• 19:30: Quiz at Studentsamfunnet i Sogndal (Meieriet) .

Wednesday, August 12th

10.15–14.00: Educational programme with your study programme. 

14.15–14.45: «God start» lecture by Sammen. The lecture on Wednesday is for primary and lower secondary school teacher students, kindergarten teavher students, sports students, social work students and social educator students.

15.00–17.00: Barbecue in the park in the city centre. Free food!

Fadder activities:

• 16.00: Café at Laben (Meieriet). 
• 17.00: Hike and Quiz with the Lurkarlaget.
• 18.00: EMILIS Olympic Games.

Thursday, August 13th

10:15-12:00 Meeting point for your class or year.

Fadder activities:

• 08.00: Morning swim with Badeklubben/Sjøspretten at the FHS pier.
• 12.00-15.00: Scavenger hunt and fadder activities.
• 18:00: Yggdrasil Olympic Games.
• 19.30: Quiz at Studentsamfunnet i Sogndal (Meieriet).

Friday, August 14th

10.00–15.00: Sports day in Kaupanger

Designated HVL buses will bring students from the central bus station in Sogndal to Kaupanger and back. 

Fadder activities:

• 12.00: Football Match, ØKS vs. EMLIS, at Kaupanger.
• 21.00: Concert at Studentsamfunnet i Sogndal (Meieriet).

Saturday, August 15th

Fadder activities:

• 11.00: Mesternes Mester (Champions Challenge) with Studentspretten and Lurkarlaget.
• 13.00: Swimming Bonanza at Sjøkanten.
• 22.00: Theme party: White Lies at Studentsamfunnet i Sogndal (Meieriet).

Sunday, August 16th

Fadder activities:

• 17.00: Dumpster-dinner with Framtiden i våre hender (FIVH) at Laben Kafé (Meieriet).

Fadder programme and buddy programme

There will also be other social activities throughout the week.

The Fadder programme is for full degree students in Sogndal, whereas exchange students have their own buddy programme.
