Two faculties become one

On January 1st, the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences and the Business Administration and Social Sciences will be merged. The name of the new faculty will be the Faculty of Technology, Environmental and Social Sciences.

The merger of the two faculties will not have consequences for students and study programs. The merger is primarily an internal reorganization, and students will still receive the same education, teaching, and services as before.

As part of the merger, some of the departments will also be consolidated. This applies to the following departments:

  • The Department of Mechanical and Marine Engineering will be merged with the Department of Maritime Studies.
  • The Department of Business Adminstration will be merged with the Department of Social Sciences.
  • The Department of Civil Engineering will be merged with the Department of Environmental Sciences.

The merger of departments will also not have any practical implications for students, other than the fact that the department will receive a new name.

We welcome new and returning students to the Faculty of Technology, Environmental and Social Sciences in 2024!
