Project summary
Establishing a fair, healthy, and eco-friendly food system is a key priority of the European Green Deal’s Farm to Fork Strategy. This initiative aims to empower consumers to make informed, sustainable food choices while reducing food loss and waste. In this context, the EU-funded FOODMISSION project will encourage sustainable food behaviours by gaining a deeper understanding of citizens’ food practices and engaging them as agents of change. To collect the citizen-generated data on food habits and educate them about sustainability, the project will design a gamified educational virtual platform, piloting it in six European countries. In addition, multi-stakeholder Transformation Labs will be organized with citizens, food industry and policy-makers to reflect on how to achieve a sustainable food system transformation.
