Project summary
The purpose of this project is to map and analyze the distribution of clinical practice hours across the modalities CT, MRI, nuclear medicine, and conventional radiography among students in the Bachelor of Radiography program at Western Norway University of Applied Sciences (HVL). The study follows five student cohorts who have completed the program during the past five years and examines how many hours each student has spent in the different modalities during their clinical placements at hospitals in the region. Data are collected from clinical practice logs and assessment documentation, and analyzed for variation between cohorts, individual differences, and potential patterns across hospitals and practice sites. The aim of the project is to determine whether students receive a balanced and professionally appropriate distribution of clinical experience in line with national guidelines and curricular requirements, as well as to identify any disparities in exposure to specific modalities. The results will provide a knowledge base for further development of clinical placement structures in the radiography program at HVL and contribute to ensuring high educational quality and relevance for clinical practice.
