Project summary

Helpers’ Grief is a research project exploring how professional helpers—such as healthcare workers, therapists, and social service providers—respond to and are affected by the loss of a client or patient. The aim is to gain a deeper understanding of the emotional, ethical, and professional impact of such losses, and to identify what forms of support may be needed afterward. The first phase of the project involves a systematic review of existing qualitative studies, focusing on helpers’ experiences, reactions, and support needs following deaths within professional relationships.
