TIE in Focus - a Nordic TIE Conference with "Epilogue"

Project summary

"TIE in Focus" is the very first TIE conference in the Nordic countries. It takes place at Bergen University College from 17th to 21st of March 2000. The conference is followed by an "Epilogue" - where TIE companies are touring schools in Bergen. The aim of the project is to strengthen the Nordic TIE miliue by building networks and by further development of the genre. The final aim is to give children and young people TIE programmes of high quality. Nordic TIE Companies will demonstrate parts of their productions at the conference. British TIE experts will give lectures and workshops, groupwork and plenaries will address issues concerning theatre and school. The project is supported by Nordisk Ministerråd and Bergen University College. Cooperators are: Eventus TIU from Bergen, Vestlandske Teatersenter and Hordalandslaget drama i skolen (the local drama association). We anticipate about 140 delegates at the conference. "TIE in Focus" is an important pre-project for the world congress: IDEA 2001 - Bergen.
