Project summary
The project "Simulation in clinical skill laboratories – What are the possibilities?" (2015) - is a collaboration between the Master program in Clinical Nursing, Anesthesia, Critical Care and Operating Room Nursing, Bergen University College and Department of Anesthesia & Intensive Care, Haukeland University Hospital, Bergen, Norway.
With focus on quality and patient safety, the objective of the project is to explore the possibilities simulation in the new laboratories can provide for the education and in practice.
Participants in the project will be senior nurses from the anesthesia unit and icu at HUH, faculty and students from the Master program in Clinical Nursing, Anesthesia, Critical Care and Operating Room Nursing at Bergen University College. Together we will explore what possibilities simulation provides, and then continue to incororate this into the simulation training. Experiences from this project will also provide the opportunity to be transfered further to interprofessional simulation collaboration. The project will use a qualitative design, with an adapted form of action research. The methods will be focus group interviews combined with simulation training.
