5th Evidence-Based Research Conference
Bergen, Norway 19.-21. November 2025
Welcome to the 5th EBR Conference 2025
On behalf of the organizing partners we are delighted to invite researchers and leaders from academia, industry, NGOs, and other sectors to join the 5th EBR Conference to share insights, foster collaboration, and explore strategies for enhancing research environments that supports valuable research. Valuable research is research that is rigorously designed to ensure validity, addresses both scientific and societal relevance, and provides a high return on investment relative to its costs, including resources and participant risks.
The main theme of this year's conference is to create research environments that empower valuable research across all scientific disciplines and geographical regions.
This year, we are fortunate to collaborate closely with four Norwegian universities, all part of the VINST alliance, as we explore the role of research-producing institutions in advancing an evidence-based approach when planning and performing research. To provide a comprehensive understanding of the conference's scope, the scientific committee has outlined the following subthemes;
- Valuable research: Supporting research that is rigorously designed to ensure validity, addresses scientific and societal necessity and relevance, and provides a high return on investment relative to its costs, including resources and participant risks.
- Valorisation of research: Enhancing the societal and economic value of research, ensuring knowledge transfer, and maximizing research impact.
- Ethical accountability and good research practices: Balancing the responsibilities of individual researchers and institutions to foster transparency, integrity, and public trust.
- Diverse and inclusive evidence-based research culture: Fostering a research environment that promotes the work of multidisciplinary teams and strengthens local capacity, expertise, and involvement in the evidence ecosystem
- Equity in Research: Promoting inclusivity by addressing disparities in health, gender, socioeconomic status, and underrepresented populations in research priorities and outcomes.
The VINST alliance, which includes Nord University, the University of South-Eastern Norway, University of Inland Norway, and Western Norway University of Applied Sciences, is playing an active role in supporting this year’s theme in collaboration with the EBRNetwork.
We look forward to seeing you in Bergen this November.
