Lifelong learning in employment settings

Lifelong Learning employment settings is a research program that investigates collaboration on educational offerings between the higher education sector and actors in the private sector.

The research will map different types of collaboration on educational courses and programs between the higher education sector and private industry, and identify the characteristics of well-functioning forms of cooperation.

We will also examine students’ experiences with such tailored study programs and the factors that promote student learning.

The background and motivation for this research stem from the collaborative project between Western University of Applied Sciences (HVL) and Ryfylke IKS, Blå Åker – Competence development for the aquaculture industry. Employees in the aquaculture industry are offered a series of courses. All members of the research group have been or are currently involved as lecturers in the course series.
