Silc Seminars

Sign Language, Interpreting, Linguistics and Communication Seminars

At Western Norway University of Applied Sciences (HVL) in Bergen, the Sign Language, Interpreting, Linguistics and Communication (TOLK) research group annually organizes a series of talks about research on sign languages, interpreting and sign language linguistics. They are called Sign Language, Interpreting, Linguistics and Communication Seminars, in short, Silc Seminars.

The seminars will be hosted by HVL and take place online via Zoom. The talks are organized once a month on Tuesdays from 12:00 to 13:00. They are 45-50-minute sessions plus a question period.

These seminars are open to students at any academic level, researchers interested in sign languages, and members of the deaf community. The talks are given in English, Norwegian Sign Language or International Sign with the corresponding interpretations provided to ensure inclusion.

Detailed information about the talks can be found below. To receive the Zoom link to connect, please send an email to Ari Price (jupr@hvl.no) to be added to the mailing list.
